«Heliogabalus.org» is a kind of Atlas, (inspired to Aby Warburg’s "Mnemosyne"),
a "Picture Series Examining the Function of Preconditioned Antiquity-
Related Expressive Values for the Presentation of Eventful Life in Art".
Starting from January 2006, this picture collection will generate
other configurations throughout the months.
In addition, specific themes will be reconfigured for individual exhibitions or lectures.
The existing series originally consists of 15 tableaux.
These are photographs of images, reproductions from books,
and visual materials from newspapers and/or daily life,
which F&A arranges in such a way that they illustrate one or several thematic areas.
These images are not ordered (nor connected to their related themes)
according to visual similarity, that is in the sense of an iconographic history of style;
but rather through relationships established by mutual affinity and the principle
of good company, which allows them to be reconstructed through the study of texts
(like, for example, contract conditions or biological associations).
You can find in this web-site study equipment, several different researches and also some
(artistic and practical) information about the show "Heliogabalus" by F&A, the project
"Homo Vario Sol It Arius", et cetera, but each time it will be up to you to discover the
information you need through the forest of signs and images.

«Heliogabalus.org» è una sorta di Atlante, (ispirato a "Mnemosyne" di Aby Warburg),
una "Serie di Figure sulla Funzione ed Espressione dell'Antico
nella Rappresentazione della Vita in Arte".
A partire da gennaio 2006, questa collezione di immagini darà vita
nel corso dei mesi ad ulteriori configurazioni.
Inoltre, tematiche specifiche saranno riconfigurate in occasione di mostre o conferenze.
Attualmente la serie delle figure è costituita da 15 tavole.
Si tratta di fotografie, riproduzioni di immagini tratte da libri,
materiali visivi estrapolati da giornali e/o dalla vita quotidiana,
che F&A dispone in modo tale da illustrare una o più aree tematiche.
Le figure non sono ordinate (né correlate alle rispettive tematiche)
in base a principi di similarità visiva, cioè dal punto di vista di una storia iconografica dello stile;
bensì in base a principi di reciproca affinità e di buona compagnia,
da decifrarsi attraverso lo studio dei testi (per esempio, condizioni contrattuali o associazioni biologiche).
